The objective of Sarvajana School is “education for all without caste, religion or creed”. This is the foundation of the PSG and Sons Charities. It was here that the most important ideals of the trust took shape fulfilling the education dreams of India’s youth. The school started out with 170 students and 7 teachers, over the years has churned out innumerable students and award winning teachers.
This school was taken over from the District Board in 1943 in order to meet the educational needs of the hamlet of Vedapatti near Coimbatore. Was established with laboratory equipments imported from Europe. Offers umpteen number of professional courses. Based on experiences of the school, the Government introduced various professional courses all over the state.
This institution was started to meet the educational requirements of the people of the rural area of Peelamedu at that period. It has been a boon to people in the area and stepping stone for the academic progress of their wards.
This school concentrates on moulding children at the most impressionable age. A holistic approach to education, coupled with its 77 year old legacy has enabled the group to offer the primary school goeasr a novel experience in learning. This is Coimbatore’s oldest polytechnic college and is also one of Tamil Nadu’s largest. In 1934, the PSG Industrial Institute structured a 2 year certificate program in technical education. Lack of colleges for arts and sciences, which lead to many discontinuing their studies during that period lead to establishment of this institution. Bearing the motto of Knowledge, Love and Service, this institution was Coimbatore’s first to come under private management. Its first batch of 88 students trained under 7 experienced staff members. Since its inception in 1995, the Manavar Illam has been a home to boys who came from houses that
have no parents or a single parent who cannot make ends meet. Housing, food and education are all
provided free of cost from the time they join in Standard VI till they leave after school / college to fend for themselves. Inmates are admitted in the Tamil or English Medium Sections of the PSG Sarvajana School. After Plus-Two, boys are admitted in any of the higher educational institutions of the PSG & Sons’ Charities. The inmates have to, however, bear the tuition fee expenses. But the ‘Illam’ staff ensures that they receive support in this. The boys are consciously groomed to not only appreciate the benefits they enjoy but also to contribute to society in some way or the other.
Vishnu Granthi was launched to provide life education to children with special needs to help them lead a
quality life. A day care programme centre for special children, ‘PSG Vishnu Granthi’ will address their health, educational, and skill needs. The centre would focus on children in the age group of 2- 15 years with cerebral palsy, autism, Down’s syndrome, and mental retardation. Training would include cognition, communication, socialization, living skills, motor skills, yoga, physiotherapy and speech therapy. The aim was to start intervention at an early stage – as early as two years – to equip them with education, skills and therapy to help them leave the centre ready with confidence to face the world.
